Gita Jayanti Mahotsav
Why Gita Daan on Gita Jayanti?
Gita Jayanti marks the birthday of the Bhagavad Gita, the sacred text of Hindus. It is celebrated on Shukla Ekadashi, the 11th day of the waxing moon in the Margashirsha month of the Hindu calendar. It is believed that the Bhagavad Gita was revealed to Arjuna by Krishna Himself on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, located in present-day Haryana, India.
Gita Jayanti is considered an auspicious day that commemorates the advent of Srimad Bhagavad Gita.
